McGill Project Receives Buncombe County’s 2018 Griffin Award

McGill Associates and Mathews Architecture teamed to complete an adaptive reuse project at 14 Riverside Drive in Asheville, North Carolina. On May 24, 2018, the project team was awarded a 2018 Griffin Award by the Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County. Thermal Belt Rail Trail Brings Life Back to Historic Rail Corridor

McGill Associates has been working with the Thermal Belt Rail Partners (Town of Forest City, Town of Rutherfordton, Town of Ruth, Rutherford County, and the Town of Spindale) on the Thermal Belt Rail Trail, a 13.5-mile-long trail that will connect multiple communities throughout Rutherford County. The project includes converting an abandoned rail corridor into a public multi-use trail.
