Morristown Awarded for Turkey Creek Greenway, Phase 5

Phase 5 of the City of Morristown’s Turkey Creek Greenway is one step closer to reality, thanks to a $700,805 Transportation Alternatives Grant, presented to the City by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and TDOT Commissioner John Schroer. McGill Associates’ Asheville office employees were busy with two community-related events last week. On June 5, 2015, a team from McGill Associates participated in a benefit sporting clays shoot. The event was sponsored by the Southern Appalachian Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society, and was held at the Biltmore Sporting Clays Club on the Biltmore Estate. Siler City’s Loves Creek Greenway Construction Progresses

The Town of Siler City conducted a walk-through today along the 1.4-mile Loves Creek Greenway alignment with McGill Associates – who is providing Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the project. The proposed 10-foot wide paved multi-use path with 2-foot shoulders will follow the Town’s existing Loves Creek sewer outfall from South Second Avenue to Pony Farm Road. Cramerton Celebrates Goat Island Park

Approximately 1,000 spectators came out to celebrate the re-dedication of Goat Island on Friday, May 1. Mayor Ronnie Worley hosted the event at the end of the new bridge.
