McGill Spotlights

Celebrating National Trails Day 2021 at McGill

Saturday, June 5th marked the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day 2021. It is a day of public events aimed at trail advocacy and service. Celebrated by hikers, cyclists, rowers, horseback riders, and many more, this is an important day to recognize the value added to our lives and communities by these trails. In honor of National Trails Day, McGill employees shared photos of their favorite trails and why they are special to them. We learned that McGill is made up of employees who love outdoor adventures, strolling along on trails, and challenging hikes and bike rides. See all the photos in our National Trails Day post.

Kurtis Durrant, Planner, said that “These photos remind me that being in nature is one of the most important aspects of life for our physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being.”

Asheville Office Greets Fall with Food, Games, and Good Times

McGill’s Asheville office hosted its annual fall office picnic recently. The picnic tradition began five years ago when Danny Bridges, then Asheville Office Manager, wanted office leaders to serve and give back to the Asheville staff with service, food, and good times. Mark Cathey, Asheville’s current Office Manager, along with the help of a team of office leaders, prepared a bounty of hot food for employees to enjoy outside. The picnic also included a cornhole tournament, diaper changing game, dessert challenge, and jar guessing game. It was a wonderful afternoon of eating, mingling, laughing, and friendly competition.
