McGill’s Knoxville office is providing CEI services to the City of Niota during the restoration of the 163-year-old Niota Train Depot, the oldest train depot in Tennessee and home to Niota City Hall. The train depot is currently undergoing repairs and renovations after receiving $378,000 in funding from the Tennessee Department of Transportation enhancement grant; McMinn County will fund a 20-percent local match.

Withstanding both the Civil War and a wrecking ball, the train depot was listed in 2015 as one of the top most endangered sites by the Tennessee Preservation Trust.
