McGill is Proud to Offer Our Clients In-House Surveying Services

SURVEYING SERVICES

At McGill, our surveying division is built on providing a comprehensive range of surveying services using the latest instrumentation and software technologies. We firmly believe that surveying is not just an add-on, but an integral part of our engineering services. It plays a crucial role in obtaining accurate and detailed information about the physical characteristics and topography of a site, which is essential for effective design and construction.

SURVEYING SERVICES CONSISTENCY AND STANDARDS

Survey team sept 2023 18To ensure consistency and the production of excellent mapping outputs, we have established precise surveying and CAD standards. These standards ensure that our crew, with substantial surveying experience throughout the Southeast, follows a consistent approach in conducting their work.

SURVEYING EXPERTISE

Our team possesses extensive expertise in various areas of surveying, including topographic site mapping, route surveying, right-of-way retracement, property boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, subdivision platting, recombination surveys, easement surveys, as-built surveying, construction staking, utility mapping, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and traditional photogrammetry and aerial mapping. We also pride ourselves on our high-order geodetic survey control, providing accurate survey data for large-scale projects.

UTILIZING THE LATEST SURVEYING EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY

One of the unique advantages McGill offers is our in-house unmanned aerial services team. This team enables us to provide aerial photography and photogrammetry services, utilizing drones to capture high-resolution images and create detailed 3D models.

Our investment in cutting-edge technology exemplifies our commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry and providing the best possible service to our clients.

Chad’s exceptional work ethic and dedication to his field have earned him recognition throughout the industry. With 13 awards from the North Carolina Society of Surveyors Annual Statewide Plat Contest, including first place in the Boundary Survey category of the annual NSPS nationwide plat contest, Chad’s expertise and accomplishments speak volumes about his commitment to excellence. He is highly regarded by his team members and clients alike, consistently demonstrating enthusiasm and a collaborative approach in his work.

“No outside surveyor is going to have the kind of relationship that I have with our engineers here at McGill,” explained Chad. “I am fortunate to be spending a significant amount of face-to-face time with our engineers, so anytime the project needs to be discussed we can get together in person and look through the information on the same screen or a map on their desk. Because of this, I am able to obtain a crystal-clear understanding of the scope of work – and we can help each other determine the best project approaches for our clients in a timely manor.”

HOW IN-HOUSE SURVEYING BENEFITS OUR CLIENTS

We take great pride in offering in-house surveying services to our clients. This capability allows us to provide a seamless integration of surveying and engineering services throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date information is readily available to support the design and construction process. By eliminating the need to rely on external surveying firms, we have a deeper understanding of our clients’ needs and can more effectively coordinate surveying activities with other engineering disciplines. This integrated approach ultimately leads to better project outcomes, reduced risks, and enhanced client satisfaction.
